David Scudder

David, who co-founded Aureus in 2005, brings over five decades of investment and wealth management experience. His wide-ranging skills include managing portfolios, helping to select and monitor managers in all asset classes, dealing with intergenerational family issues, examining philanthropic goals and responsibilities, and providing leadership to boards of trustees as well as to families.

At Harvard Management Company, from 1999-2005, David provided overall investment direction for the 600+ charitable trusts for which Harvard acts as trustee. As a partner at Wellington Management Company from 1968-1998, he managed institutional and individual portfolios, with responsibility for both asset allocation and equity management.

David earned his BA from Harvard College. He has served as a trustee for several family groups and for nonprofit organizations including the New England Conservatory, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary, and St. Mark’s School.
